Puppet Shows

The girls really had fun putting on puppet shows for Haans and me.

The hammock

During naptime, I often hear little feet pattering on top the wood floor or toys banging against bed frames, but today was different, it was eerily quiet. I peeked into Bebe's room to see if all was ok and found my little lady curled up in her jerryrigged hammock content as can be. Hey, if you want to sleep there, it's fine by me!

Leaves, leaves, leaves!

What a beautiful Fall day to rake and jump in a fresh pile of fallen leaves!! Too bad we have to go over to the neighbors to rake before we start our fun. Our lawn is a little barren of trees at present...

Barbie and Cinderella!

Pretty in Pink and ole' Blue Eyes

Elmo (Graham Van Faasen) and Cinde

We had an amazingly fun day on friday with all the Halloween activities. The girls loved wearing their frilly, ruffly Princess dresses. Beatrice was Lianna from Barbie Diamond Castle and Sylvie was Cinderella (a costume she had gotten from Auntie Laura for her birthday). They both got way too much candy!

FUNschool Halloween Party

Bebe and Will trick or treating downtown Holland
Molly and Bebe in class prior to trick or treating

I helped out in Bea's class for the downtown trick or treating adventure. Bea stood right at the door to her class and watched all the kids come in with their costumes on. She loved every minute of it!

Will (french fries) Noah, Sophie, Abby, and Beatrice

Beatrice, Dylan, Emment, Leah, Jillian in full costumes!

Halloween Fun

Bea with our pumpkin moonshine
sylvie with her friend, josh, at Little Hands Big Ideas, pumpkin day!

Bea was sooo excited to carve our pumpkin. She picked out a silly face from a book for the carving.

Little Hands kids enjoying pumpkin cookies that Josh brought.

Nadia Komenechi

Beatrice LOVES gymnastics! I was surprised when she said she wanted to take gymnastics again over ballet lessons. Fine with me since gymnastics are only $35 through Zeeland Rec.! She had such a great time running the obstacle course to the song, "Lollipop", and wearing her cute, pink leotard. Next she said she wants to take art classes...we'll see!

GR Marathon

What a beautiful crisp Fall day for the GR Marathon! Uncle Colin and Haans ran together on Sunday, Oct.16, 2008, attempting to qualify for Boston. Unfortunately, Uncle Colin's legs cramped up around mile 20 and the boys had to walk quite a bit of the last 6 miles. Ironically the same cramping happened to Haans when he ran Boston last year! So Haans knew exactly what pain Colin was suffering! We had a great time despite and what a miracle to even say that you finished a marathon- way to go Daddy and Uncle Scratchy!!

More pics from Post's Pumpkin Pickin'

More pics from our GREAT Fall day at Post's with the Robbins!

Pumpkin Pickin'

Haans thought Post's Family Farm wouldn't be busy today since we've had SO many nice weekends weather-wise so far this Fall, ha! We had to park on the other side of the road (never even knew they had parking over on that side!). It actually didn't seem too bad once we started in on all the fun.
We meet the Robbins there (an annual tradition!) And enjoyed our hayride out to the pumpkin patch to purchase this year's craving pumpkin. The girls LOVED it- along with riding the pumpkin train, playing on the zipline & horse swings, feeding the goats and pony, and of course, eating those delicious glazed donuts!!

malificent

Beatrice is learning to write her letters in school. One day she was playing "Sleeping Beauty" and so I wrote Aurora and Philip's names down for her. Well, she wanted "Malificent" in the line-up so I told her to write it out. I spelled it out for her and viola! I think she did a great job!

Hiking up Mt.Pisgah

What a beautiful Fall day for a hike at the new nature preserve, Mt. Pisgah! Gorgeous views of Lake Mac and Lake MI with the sand dunes we used to run down as kids. The girls loved their nature walk- picking flowers and looking for "bears".
